Attendance and Cancellation Policy
To ensure fairness and availability for all clients, the following policy applies to all appointments:
Cancellations and Rescheduling:
Clients are required to provide at least 24 hours’ notice if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows the appointment time to be offered to another client.
Late Cancellations and Missed Appointments:
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, will be charged at the full session fee.
Late Arrival:
If you arrive late, the session will still end at the scheduled time and the full session fee will apply.
Agreement
By booking an appointment, you acknowledge and agree to this attendance policy.
Safeguarding
The health, safety and wellbeing of every young person I work with is my highest priority.
As a speech and language therapist, I work in line with safeguarding guidance and maintain clear professional boundaries. I am committed to providing a safe, respectful therapeutic space for trans and gender-diverse young people.
If I have concerns about a young person’s safety or wellbeing, I have a professional duty to take appropriate action in line with safeguarding procedures. Wherever possible, this would be discussed openly with the young person and their parent or carer.
Safeguarding is about care, protection and responsibility.
Online Camera Policy
I understand that for many young people, being on camera and seeing themselves during a video consultation can feel uncomfortable or distressing.
For this reason, having the camera on is optional for much of the session.
However, as part of safe online clinical practice, young people will be asked to turn their camera on briefly at the start of each appointment so that I can confirm their identity and ensure they are safe and well. This usually takes around 30 seconds.
After this check-in, we can agree together how the session will continue in a way that feels comfortable and supportive.
