Message for Young People
Voice and communication are an important part of who we are.
If your voice does not feel like it fits with you, that can be challenging. You might feel frustrated, anxious, upset or uncomfortable. However you are feeling matters.
Voice therapy is a space to explore and develop a way of speaking that feels more aligned with who you are.
Together, we will think about:
Your personality
Your interests
Your gender identity
Where and how much you use your voice
Your hopes and plans for the future
From there, we create a plan that feels realistic, safe and right for you.
That might mean feeling more confident answering the register at school. It might mean ordering a meal in a restaurant, meeting new people, or speaking in front of a group.
You don’t have to figure it out on your own.
This is a space where your voice - in every sense - is taken seriously.
Message for Parents and Caregivers:
When your child is trans, gender diverse or gender questioning navigating healthcare can be difficult.
My approach centres the needs of your child. I will collaborate with them to develop a voice goal that matches who they are and supports them to be a more confident communicator.
I will take sessions at their pace and incorporate their interests.
I believe that every child deserves a voice.
